The technology was developed by food scientists and students at the University of Vienna. But how does a scientific project born in a laboratory turn into a marketable product? They came to us for help in answering this question, and as a result, 6 months of collaborative work began.
We were involved in the project before the company was founded, so we helped them to create their brand from their very first steps, before they even went to market. The result is a range of products with a sophisticated look positioned in the luxury segment.

The food technology innovation was there, but everything else was missing. Two Brand Sprint workshops later, we had clearly defined the business goals and plans, the target audience, and the clear, distinctive value proposition with which Lipid Legends would enter the market. In addition to the high quality of their products, environmental awareness was a key focus. Communication became key to public understanding and influencer compatibility.
We looked at the market to see what similar products were available in Austria and online. The Lipid Legends look had to be contemporary, vibrant, healthy, and inviting, a product you'd definitely look at and remember, even if you didn’t buy it. We built the image on pastel colors, contemporary typography, and the use of high-quality materials.
During the process, we designed the complete look and feel of more than 15 products across 3 product categories. We created an identity system between simple cold-pressed oils, and optimized and super-optimized oil essences, which are easily scalable as the product range grows.
When done well, communication speaks to you and is easy to receive. We built the marketing pillars supporting the Lipid Legends launch strategy around lifestyle. The brand has its own magazine, recipe book, and educational content, where quality, not quantity, comes first.
We designed the online shopping process to be as short, smooth, and secure as possible. The Lipid Legends site was 5 months in the making. We worked with their in-house marketing team on information architecture, content strategy, wireframe, custom frontend, CMS development with webflow, and an ecommerce webshop in two languages. The design included custom hand-drawn illustrations and lots of in-house creative work.
